How many free generations do I get?
You get 3 free AI generations to try the service. Each generation produces multiple plate ideas for you to choose from.
How much does Premium cost?
Premium costs $3.95 for 10 AI generations. There's no subscription — it's a one-time purchase. Each generation gives you multiple plate ideas.
Do my credits expire?
Credits are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase. We'll send you an email reminder 30 days before they expire.
Are credits tied to my device or my account?
Credits are tied to your account, not your device. You can log in from any device and your purchased credits will be available.
How does the AI generate plate ideas?
Our AI analyzes your input — interests, hobbies, name, profession, or any theme — and creates clever combinations that fit within your state's character limits and formatting rules.
Does VanityPlateGenerator check if a plate is available?
No, we generate creative ideas but cannot check real-time availability with your state's DMV. Once you find a plate you love, you'll need to check availability through your state's DMV website. We provide direct links to each state's DMV on our state guide pages.
What states are supported?
We support all 50 US states plus Washington D.C. Each state has its own character limits and formatting rules, which our AI takes into account when generating ideas.
Can I save my favorite plate ideas?
Yes! Click the heart icon on any plate to save it to your favorites. You can view all your saved plates from your dashboard after signing in.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe, our secure payment processor. Your payment information is never stored on our servers.
Can I get a refund?

Do I need to create an account?
You can try the free generations without an account. To purchase Premium credits, you'll need to sign in with Google or a magic link email.
